Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files placed on your device to help websites work properly, improve security, and offer a better browsing experience. Some cookies are essential to the operation of a website and do not require user consent, while others require your permission.

This website uses cookies for security, analytics, user experience improvements, and marketing purposes. Below you will find detailed information about the cookies and tracking technologies we use.

This policy covers keferboeck.com and its subdomains, including the client and partner hub at hub.keferboeck.com. Your cookie choice is stored once and shared between them, so you decide on one and it applies to the other.

Hosting & Data Location

This website is hosted on Digital Ocean servers located in London, United Kingdom. All data processing occurs within the UK and European Economic Area unless otherwise specified below.

Necessary Cookies

This website uses the __cf_bm cookie provided by Cloudflare. It is essential for protecting the site against malicious bots and ensuring its security and performance. This cookie does not collect personally identifiable information and expires after a short period. These cookies are strictly necessary and do not require consent. In addition, two first party functional cookies may be set: kfb_ref (six months) stores a referral code when you open a referral link or enter one, so an enquiry can be connected to the person who recommended us, and kfb_known (ninety days) remembers that this browser uses our client portal so we stop showing you popups meant for new visitors. Both are strictly functional, hold no tracking identifiers, and are never shared with third parties.

Analytics

I use Fathom Analytics to understand basic website usage patterns. Fathom Analytics is a privacy focused analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not track personal information. All data collected is fully anonymised and used solely to improve the performance and relevance of this website.

I also use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to gain deeper insights into how visitors interact with this website. GA4 uses cookies to collect anonymised data about page views, user behaviour, and traffic sources. This data is exported to Google BigQuery for advanced analysis. Google Analytics cookies include _ga and _ga_* which are used to distinguish users and sessions.

User Experience & Behaviour Analysis

I use Contentsquare (formerly Hotjar), provided by Contentsquare SAS, Paris, France, to understand how visitors interact with this website through heatmaps, session replays and feedback surveys. It only loads after you accept marketing cookies. Text you type into forms is masked and never recorded, and the data is used solely to find usability problems and improve the website. Contentsquare sets first party cookies including _cs_id (a random visitor identifier, 13 months), _cs_s (session data, 30 minutes) and _cs_c (your consent and masking state, 13 months), plus _hj* cookies if a feedback survey is shown.

I also use Microsoft Clarity, provided by Microsoft Corporation, Redmond, USA, for the same purpose: heatmaps and session replays that show where visitors click, how far they scroll and where they get stuck. Clarity also only loads after you accept marketing cookies, and it stops and clears its cookies if you withdraw that consent. What you type into form fields is masked before it leaves your browser. Clarity sets the cookies _clck (visitor identifier and preferences, 1 year) and _clsk (connects page views into one session, 1 day), and Microsoft may set MUID (a Microsoft wide identifier, 1 year) and CLID on clarity.ms. Session replays are kept for 30 days, heatmap data for up to 13 months.

Advertising & Marketing

I use Google Ads for advertising and remarketing purposes. Google Ads cookies help measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and show relevant ads based on your interests. These cookies may track your activity across different websites. Google Ads cookies include IDE, ANID, and various cookies prefixed with _gcl_.

I use the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) to measure the results of campaigns on Facebook and Instagram and to build audiences for them. It is loaded only with your marketing consent.

I use LinkedIn for audience building, marketing, and remarketing purposes. LinkedIn cookies help deliver relevant content and advertising based on your professional interests and interactions. LinkedIn may track your activity across different websites. LinkedIn cookies include li_gc, bcookie, and lidc.

International Data Transfers

Some of the services mentioned above (Google Analytics, Google Ads, LinkedIn, Meta, Contentsquare, Microsoft Clarity) may transfer data to servers located outside the UK and EEA, including the United States. These transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions. By using this website, you acknowledge and consent to these transfers.

Managing Cookies

You can control or block cookies through your browser settings at any time. You can also opt out of specific tracking by visiting the privacy settings of each service provider. Please note that disabling certain cookies may impact your browsing experience and the functionality of some features.

For more information about managing cookies, you can visit www.aboutcookies.org.

Your Rights

Under GDPR and UK data protection laws, you have the right to access, rectify, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. You also have the right to object to processing and to data portability. To exercise these rights or for any privacy related questions, please contact me at georg@keferboeck.com.
